In the world that we live in today, a healthy you is the biggest gift you can give to yourself. The times are uncanny. But if there’s something you can be sure about, it’s your health.

Indulge in this easy breathing exercise, become a bee and that’s all it will take to reward your health with something mindful.

An interesting way of practicing controlled breathing, bumblebee breathing is also known as Bhramari.

1. Sit straight, preferably cross-legged, on the floor and close your eyes. Your spine should be erect. Use your fingers to close your ears first and then inhale slowly and deeply.

2. Now, exhale slowly while making a bumblebee-like humming sound. This sound helps you to concentrate on your breath and become oblivious to all the disturbances outside.

Practicing this for 2 minutes helps the body to relax and free itself of stress and anxiety. When done regularly for 15 minutes at a stretch, Bhramari can regulate blood pressure and prevent throat ailments. It ensures wellbeing of the heart and lungs, thereby keeping you away from a host of diseases. Insomnia patients also find it very useful.
